Performers wanted for auditions of Charles Dickens play

Performers from the Western Wards are being invited to audition for a Charles Dickens’ play at The Kings Theatre in Southsea.

Auditions for Barnaby Rudge – A Tale of the Gordon Riots will be held at the Menuhin Room, Central Library, Guildhall Square in Portsmouth on October 22.

The play, adapted and directed by Eileen Warren Norris, tells the story of vandalism and arson in London in 1780.

Participants have to be aged 16 and over to audition. Registration is at 10.15am and for three hours hopefuls will take part in drama workshops and hear the story.

All levels of performers are welcome and are asked to bring a photograph of themselves and dress comfortably.

Call-back auditions will be at The Kings Theatre on November 20 from 9am to 12pm.

Rehearsals will begin in June and the stage performance will be from August 9 to 12, 2012.
